No need to be rude
« on: March 17, 2009, 06:01:48 pm »
I cannot stand it when a customer dislikes WFP, theres no need to get arsey and rude about it, dear me, one today,

"are you using hot or cold water"
cold water
"oh come off it you should be using hot, i was speaking to someone who uses hot water when i realised you were doing it wrong, you cant clean windows with cold water, i had to redo the windows last time. "
why didnt you call me, id of been straight back to do them.
"well no i re did them myself"
ok, i know you dislike the system, would you like me to stop coming
"no no we'll see how they go this time"

Needless to say ... i wont be going back. I dont mind if people want to have a whinge etc, but theres ways of putting it! Seriously ges my back up when they are arsey with me about it...especially the amount of moneyive spent on it!

Personally the best way to prove them wrong is to ask them to point out the offending window.

9.5/10 it's the inside, rub your finger over it, and look at the customer being embarrassed. After that if there is still a problem, leave it for another window cleaner, but at least you've proven that it's not the system.

Yes i clean windows on a well known womans clothes shop, and when she phoned me at 4.45pm to say that i had missed some windows, on getting there at 5pm and pointed out that the marks were on the insides, which i dont do, she went a very pink colour, thats management for you..... dont know their a**e from their elbows.

tell them they have to call and report anything they are unhappy with within 7 days and it will be fixed, if not then there inaction would suggest that the work was done to an acceptable standard.

7 days?! 24hrs more like for me. One bad night and the windows could have spots on them.  :)

As from my website

"We strive to ensure high standards and provide a first class service with each visit. However, if you are not satisfied with the quality of the finish, please inform us within 24 hours and we will return to re-clean the affected window/s, free of charge."

I had two customers who had to "re-do their windows" so there was no evidence of bad work.
The thing is, if they are capable of re-doing the windows then they obviously don't need a window cleaner! - Dumped.  >:(

You have to accept that a percentage of customers will always think that WFP is "not doing them properly"

Thats life, when it happens its decision time. I posted on here a year or so back about a customer who was very happy with her windows (cleaned while she was out at work). Then one day, she was at home when I cleaned and thats when the trouble started.

Usually now I just politely walk away. Win some - lose some.

The next lady down the road will think its great.
