Customer has a SCS suite just over a year old,Scs repair man told them because her husband is diabetic is the reason they have problem with head grease.Do different types of medication affect the sweat glands etc etc.

Anyway using Furniture Clinics degreaser works very well this is the third application and grease still coming out of it

He doesn't use a lanoline product does he? I had a customer who did and I couldn't for love nor money get a good job out of it. The grease had gone visually and to touch but the dye wouldn't stick even tried putting a finish over and redyeing that and then refinish but that didn't work.

All people secrete body oils which will soak into leather and either affect the finish (on pigment coated leathers) or leave dark patches (on aniline style leathers).  Just because he is diabetic does not mean that this causes the grease.  This is why leather protectors are so important on all types of leather.
Medication can, in certain circumstances, make the body oils more aggressive.  This reason is often misquoted simply to give a reason for damage that cannot be pointed back at the retailer but it is difficult to suggest that this is the cause without sometimes causing offence or having to enquire whether people are taking medication (often a sensitive subject).

It is always important to remove the grease before trying to recolour or refinish as pigments and finishes will not normally adhere to anything that has any grease present. 
LTT have an SF Primer that makes the BRIT system useable on areas where grease is present and ensures the adhesion of the pigment.

On aniline style leathers it is not always necessary to degrease but usually people want it done.  It can pull out colour that will need replacing.

Degreasing can be done with a compound (messy and hard to apply) or with a degreaser dispensed from a can which is much easier to apply and can be controlled in an easier way.

Furniture Clinics degreaser just brushes on with a paint brush,in severe cases I put a thin coating of light filler on the leather and the paint adheres very well with no problems

I think it's the deel of the grease that people don't like you can sometimes scratch it and pull the grease up with your finger nail, but it's down to customer liason to what the next step is especially on Aniline.

Ian..............leather, by it's nature requires a mutitude of approaches and with the huge array of products available the time to train someone in their use would be months rather than days.

I would love to spend a week in Rogers workshop, but it's a long way to Vancouver and I don't have the resources of Bank employees !!!!!!!!!!!!
