my 250 ltr tank is going nowhere, it has large heavy duty straps, like lifting straps its as good as welded to the floor.

my point was, it passes at 34 but whats it like at 40 50 60 70 , we all know crash technology has advanced over the years with crumple zones and airbags, so serival rates have gone up.

people do suvive crashes above 34mph and having an insecure payload in the back does not help.

Mr Brodex

Thank you for your answes, some of us understood more than you think, Just showing a video means nothing to the average layman.

Now you have presented the data, which by its absence was a little suspicious, I can now read up on it, and it will help me in my decision into buying 3 new systems in the near future.

Without this data, I couldnt make that decision.

If you take into account the quite impressive fact that the vehicle crumple zones didn't come into play, then in a "Real world" scenario I'd imagine an impact of 10 -15mph more having a similar effect on the tank. Vehicles are designed to absorb a lot of the impact, and this test doesn't take advantage of that design at all. Well done Brodex!

As the majority of vans are fitted with a full bulkhead, surely this would only add greater resistence to the forward impact of the tank.If the van in the video was fitted with a bulkhead then that probably would have pleased even less people. I'd rather a 650ltr tank in the back of my Vivaro with a full bulkhead than a 400ltr home job in the back of an escort. In my opinion my money is well spent. Also, with everyones concerns about tank safety,i hope they all wear a seat belt!!!!!

We are surprised and a little disappointed that our voluntary effort and investment in your safety has met with such scepticism.

Why? Your company has changed its policy and public opinion of hot water systems, this is VERY misleading to your customers and window cleaners in general. People loose faith in a company that performs like this.

With this in mind and being treated poorly as one of your customers I am now a Brodex skeptic. Perhaps your crash test was conducted fairly. But it seems your company has a long way to go before I for one trust you.

Bulkheads won't do much to stop an unsecured load in a crash. They are mostly cosmetic to be honest,.. have you seen the tiny bolts that hold them in??
