help leaflet design
« on: March 09, 2009, 05:34:08 pm »
Hi folks,

Starting my own business in carpet cleaning and was looking for some advice regarding leaflets and design. I have spent hours designing my own and my missus looked at it yesterday and could not stop laughing. She never explained why.

On a different note Does anyone know the email address for dave from chorley. As i need to get in touch with him for some advice.

Many hanks
Darren

As it is mostly women who book us carpet cleaners then my advice would be to ask INDEPENDENT women (not wives or close related) what there opinion is - what they like what they dislike, would they likely trash it in the bin or give a ring.

Funny but Stockport must have more carpet cleaners per square mile than anywhere else I know, there's loads of them on here are they planning to take over?

I live in Sheffield and apart from JasonL knowone in my immediate area comes on here, Paul from Kinder clean is closest I think.

Darren look at your ideal customer audience and think what they want and design to them, don't guess it.

This is ours, we are having great results with it.
The actual quality is superb, A6 postcards, colour both sides cost £191 for 10,000 inc delivery from DP.

Average prices, usually add a little on to cover the freebie, always try and up sell with protector, average ticket £85.00 for 2 hours ish. Keeps me busy.
Delivered about 4000 now and had a good response i would guess 3 jobs per 1000 ish.

Colin,
Last time i spoke t mark, he was working 7 am until 11 at night 7 days a week, and was struggling to keep up with demand, im sure once he gets chance to sort it he will. I have dealt with DP for some years and have always found there service to be second to none.

Do you get much leather work from it? I think Steve Gunn does from his leaflet but still 3 per 1000 is good.

Is it from Mark at DP?

Which printers did you use Mark?
They're quite nice leaflets, presume A5 but what grade?

Clinton I think you'd have to get alot of traffic before putting prices on websites unless you charging £20 a room.

I have always advertised prices on all leaflets and advertising even yellow pages, does seem to cut out all the timewasters, i know that not everyone agrees but it works for us.
