Hi.

I have used both for years now. The flojet is noisier and that's about it.

My flojet pump lasted 21/2 years before packing up which seems reasonable. Aquatech pumps are supposed to be good and I believe Gardiners are (or about to) selling a pump too.

With shurflo I believe you void the warranty if you use micro or mini-bore hose.

Flojet out performs Shurflo
For less problems and longer life from Flojets.
We stopped supplying shurflos several years ago because we used to have dozens of faulty ones a year.

is it true that you can adjust the flow on a flojet with a turn of a screw eliminating the need of a flow controller? and auto shut off/start

You can adjust the pressure on a flojet.

I have 3 flojets 2 on my van system and 1 on my trolley and i'm well pleased with them.

I use flojets without flow contollers and have never needed to adjust the pressure.

Never used shurflo so can't comment on those.

I have only had one flojet go in 4 years and that was only due to it cracking when it froze.

I have 2 x 60psi flowjet pumps and they have never missed a beat in just under 3 and half years.

Well pleased,I love the noisy pumps.

Flowjets are great, don't know if you could work without a flow controller, the screw is to adjust pressure not flow.  Loud but proud.  On a varistream 2 I have mine turned down to about half way and the flow is still great.

Can't give a straight answer as I have only used the Surflow since I went WFP 3.5 years ago, If it packs in I will try a flojet and let you know.

Can you increase the pressure on the 60PSI flojet pumps to around 100 psi?

Yes you can, by adjusting the screw.  It will be somewhere under the 100psi.  It's easier to get a 100psi and adjust it down to 60psi.
