Dog Smell wont go away!
«

Ok i posted about the dog P and wet dog smell. I have treated the whole place with a jobby load of that neutraliser. The place still smells like an abandoned dogs home. Any idea on the best / cheapest way to get rid of with chemicals? I must add that this is not for a client and for a rented property That is vacant - i agree with the last comment that when the house is locked up for long periods it gets worse. Thanks for your help so far guys.
P.s - anything else you think i should add into profile?

It might not be urine you can smell and the bacteria that lives in the dogs coat, even if it is urine, urine neutrelizers take days to work and normally need applying more than once, they work by breaking down the salts in the urine, they dont work over night.

Try Mpower... 120:1 generous spray, leave 1 hour. Extract with hot water. Post mist with Mpower.

Have the dogs pee'd on the carpet?
If they have you need to lift the carpet and see if it has gone through to the backing and underlay and floor boards, if it has it's a replacement of underlay apply neutraliser to floorboards allow them to dry, spray backing of carpet allow to dry fit carpet back down then clean and neutralise carpet again, wash skirting boards and possibly walls.

If it's gone through to the floor boards no amount of cleaning will solve it. I'd lift the worst affected corner and have a look/whiff.
I had one where the womens two dogs peed all the time in one room. She said 'I know, but what can you do?" I bit my tongue. Carpets had to go and sealed the floorboards and wiped down skirting and it was fine.
If it is just dog musky stuff, maybe worth another clean and deoderise.

I'm sure that Chemspec sell a product that is very good but not perfect also you can seal th e floor boards with a varnish but again no guarantees, problem is if it a conctrete floor or the customer has no more money left.

Alex
If you do have to lift it you can seal the floor with a weak mix of Unibond PVA it's actually design for sealing concrete, but will do the job on floorboards. This may be a good option if all else fails and work out how much you'd want paying for it. Just say you will seal it.

Hi Mark - My understanding is that MP works marginally better when mixed with hot water and when extracted with it. (so it is not essential) MP carries on working after extraction, until dry.
