does anyone use door wedges, I personally use ladder mats which are excelent for tiles and get good grip, but they are a pain to carry with ladders and a bucket. What does everyone else use?

wow, now look what I’ve done started a debate that seems to just go on and on and on, let talk about something different like the subject that I posted, this WFP vs. Trad has been done 2 many times.

1. Glad u got a hot system, Tommy. You wont have any problems at all them, vehicle getting broke into, van getting flooded and stiffed on heavy insurance etc etc.

2. bbdl, I don’t think its clever mate, its not even about that at all, do I think it clever to invest in a system that costs a fortune, and a fortune to run, for a poorer result and technique that cant remove bird crap, or get good results with first cleans, no definitely not clever.

In saying that I am not anti water fed pole, I do think it is a great idea but not suited for everyone. However I am against WFP users that seem insistent to reminding us all how stupid we are still using ladders, when WFPs are so wonderful and safe(http://www.nfmwgc.com/documents/Safety_WFP.pdf
). If you feel the need to justify your business decision at every opportunity then maybe you should revise it due to your clear uncertainty.

Let’s get on topic here; surely we can discuss a trad window cleaning question without having to start another WFP debate.

i used to use a wooden wedge which floated arouned in the bucket till i needed it, or sometimes in the bottom of my pouch. Syd    ps i'm wfp now mostly.

Used my ladder mats this week, great but they are heavy - not a problem for me 'cos i'm 99% wfp. But for gutter cleaning or access they are great especially with laddatec limpets too.

  really they are good but they are made like the heavy duty rubber car mats you used to get, so a few squares of that stuff soon mounts up.

Its ladder mats ive been using and they are good and wouldnt get rid of them as you can level on some pretty steep slopes with them, but just think wedges might be better for most levels then just use mats for the steeper slopes. I do the insides of some closes and on the marble floors you need ladder mats for the grip.

Ps thanks for the helpful input guys. Any idea where I might look to buy some wedges, I though wood factory or something, could I get them in homebase or have you guys made your own.

You don't have to carry all four about with you; they're not that heavy; in fact you could cut one or two in half and they'd work just the same.

In certain areas when I used ladders I'd always have two in my bucket.

Ladders are the heavy things to lug about all day; not ladder mats!

i put a little ruuber door mat underneith the ladders feet. it is a pain to carry so i put a tie wrap on a rung and clip the mat to it with a cheap karabiner. it feels a lot safer but i don't go high. i'm thinking about a laddertec device.
