Best extraction Chemicals?
« on: February 27, 2009, 09:27:39 pm »
I am new to this site so HI to everyone. Will start filling in profile so you all know who I am. I have had a company that does carpet cleaning, house cleaning and garden work. We do not specialise in either, however I have a lot of repeat contracts from past business and letting agents due to my DO IT ALL attitude. I have been hiring a complete setup pre spray, extraction machine, driers etc froma mate who used to have a CC business. He is very narrow minded and uses some cheap 1001 chemicals which i do not think work at all. He has done all the courses and passed info onto me but he is only interested in doing things as cheap as he can. This year i am hoping to expand my CC side of the business and push for some new work.

The only hurdle i have is what chemicals should i be buying that give excellent results - been looking at prochem. Also what pre-spray gets best results?

Help is much appreciated.

Thanks

AJ Maint

For extraction ive tried most chemicals but found Chemspec Formula 90 to be the best by far.

Hi Alex.
If I was a new start and wanted to play it safe. For domestics it would be all Prochem.
Prespray Gold, Fibersafe Gold, Pure clean and Citrus Gel.
If you want to get a good price, don`t mention the gardening.

Alex take a look at Ashby's website .Chemicals are cheaper and better than Prochems .If i was to start again i would avoid Prochem like the plague knowing what i know now .They do courses in Sittingbourne ,which are very good .

Dave use F90 on most carpets and mainly Prochem chemicals for upholstery.

Yes Mark.
I`m trying to keep it simple for the guy, so he wont get into trouble and give us all a bad name.

I would recommend prochem too, Powerburst is my favourite at the moment.
I have however started using CWR from Hydramaster instead of FF rinse.

Pureclean, Powerburst, PSG, does most jobs

Also like Ultimate master for certain jobs and nemisis for the odd eco warrior.

You use powerburst all the time Mark.
Was toying with getting some but Trafficlean seems to get it right every time.
Isn't Olympic the cheapest place for chemicals?

John,
Olympic prices seem cheapest at face value, however once you add on £10 del per case + vat (£11.50)
The saving is almost eliminated.
I used to use Trafficclean some time since and it is a good pre-spray, however i do now prefer powerburst and it works out cheaper. If you want to try some before you buy any i can let you have some to try im only 20 mins from hudds.

Thanks for the offer Mark but am going to buy some anyway as it won't go amiss as I need some more pre-spray anyway.
Mailed Olympic to see if they will waive the delivery as I will be ordering £100+ of materials and am awaiting a reply.

Good luck, i order 2-3 hundred at a time and have known graham for years, his margins are that low, i dont think he can throw in delivery, maybe wrong tho.

For Pro-Chem stuff online try the following (best we've found): -

http://www.vicol.co.uk/

http://www.ukcleaningsupplies.co.uk/index.asp

Vicol also do free delivery if spending over £75. They also have the Sebo BS36 for £182.60 + VAT with free del. Hard / impossible to beat!

For small amounts of chem's we buy local. Don't rul this option out as it's surprising how prices for Prochem stuff varies so much from one supplier to another. Tell you local what you can get stuff for and they'll often price match.

Just bought a load through Vicol and they seem like the cheapest.
Plus no delivery charge above £75.
