pole to pole....

do you have a van or car?

i had the same problem....

so i bought a second hand 250 litre flat tank... took the pump out of the backpack... stuck it in the van.... i even used the crap backpack battery... for a while....... connected a hose reel....

and off i went with my first van mount  ;)..

after filling them 25 litre containers, then filling the backpack.... then humping the damn thing around all day... i was exhausted at  tea time.....

a back pack is a tiny tank of water driven by a battery and pump.... which you have to man handle all day long...and keep filling.

so i thought. lets convert this into a bigger tank which i dont have to carry.

the rest of the backpack went in the skip.

hated it.

I think my backpack is great.  I don't want to set the world on fire; just pay the bills and have some left over for DIY jobs round our house and a few holidays a year in our caravan.

I can use my estate car; I don't have to fork out to run two vehicles; I haven't worked much this month, yet all the bills are covered and I'm owed nearly £1K in unpaid stuff.

On top of that, Wor Lass had her 'wicked way' with me this morning; we didn't get out to work till nearly 11.00 am!

But she's happy; so am I; backpacks are great!

Don't forget about your quality of life!

Dont the real men in the Army yomp miles all day with 28kg loads on their back.

You do need MoD frames and straps to carry the load properly, put it onto the tailgate and sit down backwards into it, put the starps on and stand up ! simples  ;)

No, Navy boys 'Yomp', Army lads 'Tab'.

Same thing really with the exception that the Navy boys are into Rum Bum and Baccy.

Been gettin all sorts of niggly pains on my back and shoulders. I must lift a full backpack off the ground over a dozen times a day. I know i'm stating the obvious, but this must do some serious damage to muscles, also i been thinking about the weight that the straps have on your shoulders. This must trap nerves too. Anyone else got any thoughts on this. Mornin all  ;)
another reason to stick with ladders  ;D ;D
thats because you dont like change and whan to be the ladder monkey you are  :P, fair play to you though gives the opening for others  ;)

Like Dave, i also had a real bad back in the mornings before i started using the backpack and now.....it's fine. It must be because of building up the surrounding muscles, so in that respect....great. Now to answer Gazza's question. I have a combo mate, a 250l tank, hosereel etc. But like a few people on here, luggin that out every 2 mins sends a chill down my spine lol. I got the sureflo backpack. Great in so many ways, but yeh, what i wouldn't give for a button anywhere but under neath the bloody thing  :-\ I really don't know if i could also fit a trolley in there too. Might try and arrange a few things in there this weekend so that i could. I done one of a "few" large houses the other day. It was such a joy to just let that hosereel rooooooooooooooooll out.  ;)
