need an advise....shurflo pump,battery??!!
« on: February 24, 2009, 10:20:06 am »
i use the freedom trolley system for work but now it started to give me some troubles.(using for almost 2 years now). The shurflo pump works fine in the first 10 seconds and then it begins to struggle(pumping on and off).
my concern is either pump or battery charger problem, or battery?!.
just want to ask, should there be a red led light in the charger while charging the battery? mine is staying on green all the time(i think as i remember it should be red led light), may be this is the problem.....
what can you advise?
thanks  ;)

On your charger cable, have you got an inline fuse holder? You cant miss it. Some of the earlier charger had these fuse holders but the later ones havnt.

my charger looks like this:

freedom trolley products.
can't see that inline fuse holder, is it inside the charger then?

That is one of the newer ones without the fuse holder. It is almost certainly a charger/battery problem.

Not sure on how to advise other than phone adepta.

hi, if its not fuse holder or wiring could be...

doubt its the battery if its operating on/off, if it was the battery it would just operate slow.
its more likely the pump itself or the high pressure switch. is it wired in?? should be two wires on top of pump
dont be pressured in buying a new pump, they are very strong, instead buy a new head and pressure switch roughly 25 quid, very easy to fit just 3 screws.

hi farkham, why are you ordering a new charger??
i doubt its the battery or charger, you say the pump stops/starts, if it was a power fault ie the battery not holding charg or charging, the pump would operate slow,  it would not stop then start.

I think that every WFP user should consider buying a cheap multimeter as a priority, you can get one for about £8 from Aldi. You can them measure how much juice is in the battery. A fully charged battery should give a reading of about 13,5 volts, you can also test the charger,. fuses, continuity etc. An essential piece of kit.
