ive seen on this site second hand machines for sale and was wondering if this was a good way to start up, perhaps using these machines until i could afford to upgrade. i do worry about maintenance and reliability, will manufacturers be cooperative if i need to fix them? ??? ???

Unless you can afford to buy new by CASH when starting out then buy secondhand by CASH.

Not much to portable machines.  Easy to fix and your local supplier should be more than happy to fix your machine for payment.  If hes not then get a new supplier.

Learn to clean before you buy a machine.

ive been operating for a year now. ive got a nice second hand ninja, and im getting busier. ive justbought an elite dl second as well.

the next step is new portables in a year or two.

do it but get then from carpet cleaners and research the brand.
