Pic one is a B&Q Supercentre  "Bola" broom, not much bristles on the glass.
 Good job you cannot see into my immagshack account where all the real dirt is  ;D
There are one or two diff pictures - as your all bored  ;D on the  site www.electricguttercleaner.com/ pic 3 and 4 are of a proper 4w elecy trolley.

Picture 15 has helped, good idea, is that expanding foam or something else?

I take it it is to stop the end of the poles being damaged and might add a little strength to the pole connection? 8)

Sort the tips and bases out and the middles are strong enough, looks like you have the right insight.(yes its foam, the emp has fitted tip caps/protectors)
