The no win no fee lawyers take a hit on lost cases because
1. they weigh up the % of winning and only take the cases they will win
2. charge more than enough to get a 'fuller' profit
You could end up with loads of customers or you could end up being a busy fool, I don't know the answer but from experience (as I used to do freebies) I thin the latter!
One way to look at it would be based on the principle that if you give something to the customer they will give something back, so if the stain dosn't come out for whatever reason DO NOT take £5 or £10 ask them for a referal they will most definately give it you but you do have to ask there and then because if you don't they will forget you as they will be focused on insurance or new carpets.
I think like Ken I would have taken the £50 but then again I have plenty of customers me being an oldie!!
Shaun
PS why don't you offer/stress to your customers that you do a free stain treatment call out in the first 6 months on the items cleaned (hopefully they'll have more cleaned in 1 go) and then you'll get them and keep them forever?

Derek.
Don't stereotype us all.
That accent is far side of Wakefield/Barnsley accent miners country.
Not quite as broad round here and although Tony signs in as from E.Yorks, it doesn't exist, the people who call it that speak quite posh.
Think it's Humberside/N.Yorks.
A'll si thi.
