hi folks been out today with my pure freedom trolley doing all 2nd cleans using the wfp trolley but i,m still taking far too long,and using far too much water.on average its taking me 45 mins and i,m using two full 25ltr barrels on your average 3bed semi.how long should it take and how much water do you guys who are used to the trolley take.been using it set at no 3 for brushing and 4 for rinsing.help guys i need to speed up fast ?thanks in advance

Gemma, you've got to have some confidence in your technique and your equipment.

A standard window with three panes shouldn't take any longer than 15 to 20 seconds to clean.  Just wash once and rinse; then move on.

I suspect you're worried about the results, so are taking far longer and using more water than needed.

I use fan jets all the time,if you have pencil ones and the windows bead it will take longer,try a normal window at home but don't take too much time on it,like Tosh says wash and rinse within say 20-30 seconds on your standard window unit and see the results later,alot of people take far too long on a window because they worry about the results but if you give it a good scrub and rinse a little it will be fine,don't bother turning the flow up for rinseing and down for scrubbing,just leave it on the same setting,I think you are worrying too much and thats why you are using alot of water,on a normal 3 bedroom semi I would use 10 litres roughly but I have a tap for saving water and use fan jets that give a decent rinse once down the pane.

if the water is pure then the only problems with drying are what comes down from above. vents etc  but like a lot seem to do on hear just offer a garantee and if it doesn't come up to scratch you will soon see what are the problem windows.

Looks like your in the same boat as me gemma. I use about 75 litres on a 3 be house
It takes me about an hour to clean. Using that much water the punter as a free pond in the garden when i've finished
Hopefully we'll all get quicker and use less water

even on fust cleans thats way to much water & to long you nead to go out with sumbody whos got xperiace

here's how I clean windows

top of glass from left to right once

up and down across from right to left

top of glass left to right once

done

I use a high flow rate, setting 6 on varistream.

average size window takes me no more than 10 seconds

average 3 bed semi will take 6mins or slightly less.

Gemma practice makes perfect, regular cust its just a quick once over and rinse, on your own the sort of house your talking about should be 10 mins including setting up packing note through the door and so on, you will know if your too fast when people start moaning.

You are using far too much water. In an attempt to make a really good job I think

The honest answer is that it was a collaborative effort between me and Adepta Engineering.

I knew what I wanted in principle so went to them and asked them to design and build it which they did. It bears no real resemblance to the Freedom trolley as it has been for a good while now. I did come up with the name "Freedom Trolley" It evolved over time with a lot of input from Andy Thompson of Adepta who is a very good ideas man. Basically that's it.

As for the future of trollies watch this space   ........

Makes me laugh why anyone would want to rinse a bedroom window with brush away from the glass, that's just making hard work for yourself     'Brush on glass' any day at any height regardless with the exception of milky frames.
All I do is pay attention to scrubbing glass near top of frame (that's where all the dirt, cobwebs, etc are and spots will occur if not cleaned thoroughly), good but thorough confident scrub ensuring I've covered all the glass to loosen any dirt with the brush and a once down the glass 'rinse' using plenty of water with brush still on the glass, job done.
It's quicker to rinse hydrobic glass with 'brush on' covering the glass area than it is to push water flow cascading down the glass with 'brush off'.

when i first started i used to rinse loads of times using my trolley. try this . scrub the window twice,go all round the sides and then rinse slowly just once. it will come up great and you should start using less than a barrel a house. i was like you at the start and now do approx 3 houses an hour if they are small semis .
