Depends on the operator and chemistry used. It would be very difficult to choose unless procedures and products were clearly defined. Even then, it would be a close call.

My gut feeling is that for the same carpet on the same day, with detergents and minimal agitation, the Powerflite would be No.1  If you were detergent free, with good mechanical agitation and cold water, the Scorpion would win.

Add heat to the Scorpion and it may just about be an all round winner, but both are excellent machines.

When I was considering what to buy myself a couple of years ago, I narrowed it down to just these two machines.  I was happy using just hot water from the custy's tap or even cold.  I concluded that if I chose the Powerflite, I'd still want more power, so I bought the Scorp. It's only natural to want to use the biggest tool in the box. For me it was the right decision.

Safe and happy cleaning :)

If you want heat then the 1350 certainly will give it.

Combined with the Wonderwand this will be a good combination but at 500psi I am not sure how frequent you will be filling up the tank.

I have had a CFR500 Perfect Heat machine in the past. Now a Scorpion with external heater.

At 500 psi or below your going t go through a lot of water and lots of filling up.

If i was going to get an upgrade would be a prowler for a t mount and a portie would be a scorpion no others and with the extra vac and and an exchanger for the heat :)

Which is better depends on who's answering the question. Scorpian owners I'm sure would back their machine, and powerflite owners the same.

I currently own a perfect heat 1350 it's a very good machine and produces a high level of heat!! I prefer to use detergent based products and they perform better with added heat.I didn't look at the scorpian, as I've previously purchased 2 machines from AmtechUK.Their service is very good and are always willing to help.

Both machines have a 500 psi pump , not sure what point your trying to make!you don't need to use a wonderwand a twin jet is fine.

Whichever you choose shouldn't leave you disapointed.

JMJ
Out of the 3 previous posts two of them are currently Scorpion owners, one had a CFR500 and the other looked closely at the 1350..... but both gave good comments about the 1350 - cant get fairer then that.

Many a cleaner has been using the speedsters because of performance and heat have you looked at those?

I did read the previous posts, thats why i gave an answer from a powerflite owner.I wasn't suggesting they weren't fair.

Whats the maximum distance that you can clean from these machines? and will the Scorpian extra water tanks fit the Powr-flite?

Cleaned at 150ft with Scorpion on 2" hose. Yes there's a drop off at that distance, but it's still better than a conventional porty with 25ft of 1.5"

Having the scorpion as a t mount set up gives you the option :)

How many litres of water do the tanks hold with the scorpion as a t mount set up ???

Ive cleaned at 75ft with my Raptor it was a joke ended up bringing out my powermax and taking it up the stairs any machine with 2x3 stage vacs 5.7inch size 50ft is the max after that forget it.I use 40ft of vac hose on most jobs even that is ok but if i can i will use 25ft of vac hose as the drying times are far better.

Scorpion auxilliary tanks are 150ltrs.

Darren.  If you ever get the opportunity to borrow some 2" hose, try that. The Raptor vacs are set up for airflow, albeit I believe through a manifold rather than individually,  and you should notice a little improvement. Also try a slightly slower extra vac pass.

The freswater tank of my Bane is 65x50x95cms
if my grammar school education was any good i would say it is 300lts

Not sure of size of waste, but imagine it would hold more, maybe 450-500lts,

Andrew
