moving rugs
« on: February 05, 2009, 05:56:56 pm »
Hi Lads,

Just enquiring about how you guys clean rugs?
Personally I use a buffer with prochem crystal green in the tank,
give them a good going over then rine with prochem fibre rinse.
Pain in the butt trying to use my wonderwand on them so most of the trime i use a stairs wand.
Just looking for tips on how to keep them from moving.

I would be careful using Crystal Green for cleaning rugs. It is designed for cleaning bad protein soiled carpets such as in restaurants. You could have problems with colour run or browning. I would use a microsplitter or a wool specific cleaner such as Pre spray gold or one clean.

A crystalising high foam shampoo would be the best thing to start with, it cleans brightens and dry fast and is ph neutral (well it's a good starter) always check for obvious though.

Been down that path of crystal Green days , never had a prob all but the more i learn I realize its a big no as a front liner but more of a problem solver , my tub takes pride of place on a shelf at the back of the lock up

I always take rugs home to do them and put them on underlay and grippers or tack them down.those of you that have concrete floors can put shuttering ply down and put the grippers etc on that. For products i use Prespray Gold then F&F rinse. Fibre Shampoo or Bonnet Buff.
