I was thinking about John on day, but I was bothered about how his business was doing or has he somebody out in the van in his place. I know John's loyal customer base will wait for him but has he an income at the moment?.
I suppose all of us self employed people would find it difficult if struck down with a sudden sickness as in John's case.

Hi Guys,

Just spoke to John  and he's making progress and will be back soon.

He is coming to MK and I'm going to be chauffeur , so it should'nt be too tiring for him.

Good news ,

Cheers,

Doug

To my many friends from around the globe, my sincere thanks for the dozens of cards and messages.

A 15 hour heart attack is not something to be recommended but the response from you all has contributed as much as the medics  toward the recovery.

I certainly have a lot of reading to do before I catch up with what has been happening here, so will probably be a little quiet for a while. ( OK, stand up all those who sighed with relief  ).

Apart from gaining about a stone and a half in weight, I am beginning to feel my old self again ( a bad habit reputed to affect the eyesight  ) and hope to be back on the wand in the very near future.

As Fintan supected, I have had no income since the little bit of fun but have now got a solid 14- 16 weeks work waiting to be booked in. I have managed to pass on five jobs to other cleaners but most customers have opted to wait till I can get to them myself - and I was thinking of aking my first holiday in 23 years this summer !!!!. Loo ks like a very long waiting list for the next couple of years

Thanks again mates.

Delighted to see you are recovering, John. When you take up your wand again, start off slowly, and build up your bookings gradually. Don't try to please everybody in the first few weeks.

Best Wishes, Neil Gott

Good news John.

A few years ago my father was in the same position as you. Our doctor told him to "Take it steady" and for every hour you do at wotk, make sure you take an hour to do something else that you really enjoy.

For my dad, it was back to work part time and then a brilliant excuse to spend as many hours pottering in the garden as he could, snoozing and polishing his car!
