only been wfp for a few months alls well at the mo ,slowly building up an ok round,was thinking what happens if theres an hosepipe ban,would this affect us being able to work,or would wfp be exempt from the ban being a business?

I wouldnt feel guilty, have you noticed how much rain we get, one summer and panic!! Its the governments fault for letting private contractors run our water conservation

No it won't

The legislation concerning hosepipe bans and drought orders has been changed in light of the last drought.

Hosepipe bans only affect domestic use but the next stage is a Drought Order and the powers the water companies have now are very wide ranging, including specific reference to WFP.

The picture is still not absolutely clear, but the water companies will probably interpret the new rules to mean they can ban us from using our equipment.

There are various websites which address this situation and if you're worried I recommend some research.

if your RO is plumed in to your water pipe thers no probs , the hose we use is not atached to manes

Thing that annoys me, I called the water company as there is a leak outside my house, the path is soaking wet, and is a hazard, I called and told them about this, 2 weeks later still water over path a guy did come round and tell me there was a leak the next day and sprayed an arrow pointing to the leak (which washed off about 2 hours later in the rain). lucky it is there side of the meter and not mine or I would well and truly angered. theyu lose more water in leaks than all the window cleaners use. I would rather pay a fine should they ever ban us from using it, may even get free newspaper advertising at the same time

thats why they cant afford us to use it in summers that are above average for uk ie - hot.... but if they captured it a bit more ingeniously and kept it like they have too where its properly hot with no where near our rainfall levels, and loads more people !

Must be to much effort for all them lads driving round in fancy land rovers working for united utilities to actually do some digging and WORK!!

would a "ban" on wfp still apply if you paid commercial rates? Rent a standpipe from the water company and pay for water usage?

Gemma, I would have thought where you are - Birmingham area - you are not very likely to get a hosepipe ban. It is the SE that is the dry part of the country. Not thinking of moving are you?

Read what Ian said. What you've just said was the way around the ban last time, but they've put rules in place to address wfp now.
Remember there's a huge difference between a hose pipe ban and a drought order.
