Hi Richard

I used BT for the first time this year and not so much as a phonecall through it. I wont be renewing it this year.

Ive used Thomson Local & Yell in the past and the only one which really paid for itself was Yell.

Over the last few years I have not done bad from BT Phone Book, nor the Thomsons.
But this last 12 months - gone right down.

I too dont mind getting a £ back for a £ put in - after all you should get repeat and referrals.

But I dont think I will be going with them the next time, and once you are with them if you want to reduce the size the £ figure they come up with makes it such a bad deal to do so.

Yell.com may be a goer - still get a few clients saying they got me from Yell.com,  directory.......... mmmmmmm.. better then the other 2 but not brill.

Very good point Dave, I've had 6 phone calls from my ad in YP since it came out a couple of weeks ago, it's advertised as "Days Deepclean of Helston" All but one of them have said they rang because I was based in Helston... the other was miles away (Price shopper!)

John

I thought it came out in October, obviously it changes from area to area... But when I was going through with it I was told it had to be in for publication in October... So I was miffed when it started arriving on door steps 2 weeks or so ago....

I opted for Thomsons who also put me on Google.
The directory has got me barely anything in fact useless.
The google ad though does come up number 1 when you type in cc plus my area or first 3 letters of postcode.

I went for Thomsons too, they were a lot cheaper and the sales rep, she had cracking legs! I won't be using YP if I don't get my money back over the year, but if Thomsons send that leggy sales rep, how can I say no?  ;) :P :-*

Got a quarter page ad cheaper than the enhanced listing on yell . com i have so was quite pleased with the price mind you was not the price they started at. your dead right about people want local being in devon goin in the north devon directory means you are local . there will be less than 6 cc in there or so. trouble is with yell is too many in there for my liking plus so disapointed with my yell .com ad not one call told me one thing got another goin to complain

Has anyone else managed to cancel there yell . com advert early i mean
