You dont have to use that tab when you reply you know. I asked as I was wondering what damage it might do, Im thinking of wiring in a small wiring block from a lighting circuit on the plug lead out the wall so that gives first before the wires are pulled out the charger

I use a split charge relay,... easiest option by far!

dont understasnd why people waste money buying and charging a 2nd battery for their pump when there is one already in the van, got my pump hooked up to the vans battery no problems with charging

if connecting to a circuit a problem, buy a ciggy plug, centre positive outside negative, just make sure fuse is min 6 amp simple, no more messing round with batterys

One very good reason why is that if your work is predominantly local then the battery wont get charged sufficiently.

and on large jobs you have to start the engine every hour or so, otherwise your battery WILL go flat.

no load of rubbish, i do on average 10 jobs a day wfp no problems in the past 6 months, i eaven use another pump to filter 100 l of water on the go, remember van betterys are large,

if your getting flat batterys, the battery is probably on the way out or an altonator fault, sureflow current when pressure switch operated is about 6 amps, normal flow probably under an amp

your van lights probably use more current than the pump

no, it  was a new van, and im talking about BIG jobs....6 months isnt long enough for u to find out, in a year from now u will have a different opinion. it will gradually drain your battery.

I drove off the other Saturday afternoon with the heater in the back of the van still plugged into the extension lead.
It pulled the extension lead out of the ocket in the garage, I didn't realise and when I parked up in town to go shopping had 40ft of cable dragging behind me, had been about a mile like that!!

In theory you shouldn't charge it in the van - poor ventilation one spark and poof! I have a tube running from the battery vent outside the van hopefully to take the gasses outside.  :)
