i find it amazing but i suppose the could live somewhere remote
Maybe they have bought into the idea that eBay is "the cheapest" thererfore whatever/whoever is selling on there, must by virtue be offering the best price?
If you have access to a computer (and if they are looking at eBay then I presume they have!)....its down to pure laziness. Everyone will post stuff out to you these days.
I use eBay as a starting point. Then find suppliers. Then check back with the eBay seller to see if there is a deal to be done. Then check suppliers to see if I can get a deal over the eBay price....
Unless its stuff from Alex, as theres no competetion for what he's selling.

Personally the internet is fantastic...I live in Holland and recently priced up the following items:
1 x set of 10" prefilters for RO-MAN system = 64 euros
1 x 650litre tank = 640 euros
1 x 25Kg bag of di resin = 91 euros
All excluding 19% vat (btw as it is called here).
So using the internet...I buy my gear/ from the UK once a year...
Cheers
Dave.
