Hello, 
 
            My name is Mark and i want to start a cleaning business up and i would like some very good points for it please..I would like to start off doing build cleans on building sites. please help me as im doing my business plan at the moment..I'm doing my research on the stuff i need..If you could write a list of things I might need that would help aswell..
Would i need to get any certificates or anythink else  please help...

In a nutshell do not bother starting up in builders cleans just yet, the whole building indusrty is on it's knees.
If you do get any orders then you will find it hard to get paid and when you start you need your money on time.

Thats a good start - come on here asking for help to start your business and make money the easy way by sniding the ideas other people have learnt the hard way , then say by the way I'm not giving out your e mail because we're not to be trusted  So why should we help you ?

That is a superb question as I have alway wondered that. Why can't they reply on here?

There some sort of secret allience! And only if they like you will they email you.

But to your original question.. I would have thought builders cleans is not the way to go. That is not to say it wont work. We have done many builders cleans but they pay late all the time.. so bare that in mind and the time in this econic climate especially builders they are suffering. So be warned you may not get your monies.

Why not choose Commercial cleaning, office cleaning, window cleaning. We do window cleaning as well. WFP setup But let me tell you not everyone one wants WFP on there residential property. Some like traditional and wont settle for less. So we do traditional as well.

Most of our work is commercial with some residential work, I dont keep all my eggs in one basket.

Theres things some people would prefer not to share with other people who are in the same area.  Anyway if your needing help why dictate the terms that people can help you. Secret alliance ? thats hiding your email surely. Starting up in builders cleans - he'll have 2 years to think about things

I think its a shame, I thought this forum was to help everyone. But its obviously is not here to help everyone.

Although I understand what you mean BDCS I dont really see why it matters to the area wether you are from there or not as its roughly the same accross the whole of the UK especially in the commercial sector.

I  know that as we have worked very far a field although our main area is Kent. We also work with many agencies and subbies.

And yes your right he will probably have to wait 2 years for builders cleans. As that is the most effected area. Plus its alot of prep, he will need good insurance, most like dealing with Ltd companies but not all. And you have tto keep your records up to date with them. Getting on their books first as there wil be many already in frombt of him.

But lets give him credit... every one is starting somewhere and we all began at the begining at some point in our lives.

Now in this climate i am sure you are aware, there are more people than ever starting on there own as there not much chance to get a job... I have seen many new window cleaners mainly. But thats not only place.

Mark once again mate best of luck, get your insurance sorted, and if you know building companies telephone them. Its the only way forward.. cold call in this climate. Dont lose heart! Keep going.

By the way, builders cleans are tight on profit margins so remember... the next guy will always undercut you...! Prepare a task list, and anything else they want adding on will be an extra. Oh and you will most probably need PPE! But you dont always need to wear it... depends on the site.

I'm not going to send my e-mail for everyone to see as i don't want people sending me spam mail   thats why.. if you don't want to help then don't.. thanks dave  for your information. would you send your e-mail out for anyone to see? no i don't think you will.
I have not seen business link yet [not saying i wont] for your information I'm doing my research as I'm not starting until next year, I'm in no rush.
Like i said I'm doing a business plan and i will not start until I'm 100% happy as i do not rush things.  The job what i do now is very good pay so money is not the problem.
I can understand why you wont give information out but the thing is if people share stuff you can learn more things. What I'm aming for is in 5 years to have one of the biggest companys in wiltshire [which i belive in myself that i can do it] I'm very good at market research and a very good talker.

I'd help - I've no problem at all so long as your not close to me for obvious reasons. Business plans are for showing the bank to borrow heaps - but what do they know ? The present situations due to the banks plans If bank managers could run their own business why are they sat behind a desk in a bank ? Plans are ok but they never seem to work out. You need to be able to adapt so you can say yes when the phone rings. Everyone has their own opinions and these are mine - I have had ideas that have worked and some that failed miserably but I have learnt from them -  plans are pants   Why wait 5 years - start sooner, maybe in your spare time doing eots or the like to test the water - you may not like the trade.

The way i see it, the email address is for the business anyway, if not create one for it.

when creating leaflets or placing advert you will more then likely place your email address on there somewere for all to see, just like you do with your phone number.

Everyone on here is here for the same reason, to get tips,for  help or to help others.

If you want help (in your case a full list of equipment needed) wouldnt it be easier to get it sent as a attachment so you can save it and print it off wen needed? ??
