Anyone out there in Peterborough area (PE postcode), interested in insurance work through Frontline (nataional flood school)?
I have turned down two jobs in this area, one at eye and one in peterborough. One was flood,the other a burn.
there a gap here, any one wants it?

i can woodman but most cc don't want flood work unless its the odd small washing machine flood,,,after 5 years of fire and flood work i'd much rather network carpet cleaning ! its just a shame we can't target insurance companies for carpet cleaning like the fire and flood guys do...altho when i subbed for karl above on floods etc he was part of a combined network of small operators and the rug was pulled when the insurance companies decided to go with a national franchise. i do believe that that didn't actually work any better tho..i'm sure karl cud explain better.

might just add i'm not expecting an insurance company to offer carpet cleaning !

just that the fire and flood market is a lot easier to setup a network and get work...but very competitive.

I thouht there was a truckmount operator and a Specialist Flood and Fire restoration operator , members of NCCA etc who had also been trained but National Flood school, atready operationg in PE area and they are experienced in this work.

Unless they are lurkers I do not think they are on this board but are in the NCCA list

youve got Munters in the area, but i believe they are national and they are really just playing with the big boys.

It appears from what i have been told that some of the insurance companies arent exactly fully happy with the level of service that they have been receiving from their appointed contractors.

it seems that possibly the insurance companies hbave realised that they could get a better level of service by accessing services through an alternative route.

from where i am standing it looks like the insurance companies have gone round in a big circle, local supply, national contract, local contract.

Munters moisture control  services are a big name in flood work.

and when i had  a chat with Frontline, and explained what we did, and what we are planning to do in the near future, they said that we could fit in nicely to PE area.

nothing ventured nothing gained really, just another possible customer from my point of view, and a development of our services.
 
never have enough customers!!

Agree nothing ventured, nothing gained! But the kit costs an arm and a leg.

no we will work fire and flood.  the ethic of how the business has grown and how it will continue to grow is on a DEMAND and SUPPLY basis, if there is a need for a service we are prepared to resource up for that service

Quite simply there are two NCCA members at least in the PE area who have been trained in flood work.

I believe Karl is a member of NCCA . and I thought the owner of Flood School was a Director of NCCA.

It could be these two companies do not want the work.

I just thought I would give Karl a pointer in their direction  as they are experienced in this work. But it seems to have got a little complicated Next time I will pm Karl

I think I was also in the back of mind I was thinking what has happened to NCCA networking system.

It could be National Flood School wants more people to attend their courses and buy required equipment.


Lurkers are very nice people who read our posts but do not contribute to the board with their opinion  experience ever.

Thanks for clarification, you right to point out, that the ncca have trained ff persons in that area, it could have slipped Karl’s mind, on the other hand they could be part of a franchise network, not a wise move giving work in this area to a competitor!

Lurkers could equal franchises or a senior trade federation members hands may be tired?

Have to agree with Matt i'd much rather network carpet cleaning as hours are better and no 24/7/365 call outs!

Just to clear up some points made.

The work is through national flood school/frontline, who put mail shots out to all suitable companies, using I assume lists from their data base and NCCA.

They are looking for independent companies, not franny companies. Independent give a better level of services. My opinion and its right.

They are posting on this site regarding these mail shots where some people dismiss this as a scam and showed no interest (oops, some of you are losing work).

There has been work in p'boro that I have turned down which could have been carried out by some of you that have posted on this posting, and I hope in future you will be able to service these jobs.

Training is needed, but you DO NOT have to be trained at the NFS, or buy your chemicals there, or buy your equipment there. This is an independent network, not a franny company. Servicing the job is your only requirement.

May I also add that I do not work as a rep for the NFS or frontline, I just put a post up on here to help others get work and in the long run, hope that the Frontline/NFS get a class A independent national network of flood/fire teams together and give the franny companies a run for their money.

Or have you all failed to notice that over the last decade the frannies are taking over
