I dont know what yer circumstances are,  but if you can buy a round or two to give yourself a liveable income, whilst you build up a business.

Door knocking is best and cheapest way to build your round, but some people really hate doing it that way,,,me included. When i did it worked out at 1 customer per hours canvassing on average. Nowadays i just have a regular box advert in local free weekly paper, cost is £15 per week. This is my third consecutive year.It suits me but not every one. 8) Syd

What to do now is to go back round the people you leafleted and chap the door and show them the leaflet and say "you got one of these a few days ago, would you be interested in having your windows cleaned?" you've planted the thought with them already, now its time to start harvesting.

the local paper also worked for me in my area

It will take time with leaflets door knocking is faster, if you can use a local paper with a small ad.
I pick up a lot up whilst out cleaning as they see the van which is sign written.
good luck :D

I too have used leafleting only as my main source of customer intake...but be prepared for low hit rates...

My experiance is that from the 20k leaflets I have put out...0.5% return is good, ok you may hit a nice 'run' every now and then but do not expect 5%+....

If you combine leaflets and door knocking...you'll be very suprised I would imagine at the increased response.

Just my experiance thats all.

Cheers
Dave.
