I must say that these gloves which I was lead to believe were great and I thought were great have fallen to bits ( as did the close fitting sealskins I bought last winter)  after about 2 months. I am sorry if my previous posts suggested otherwise.  Total waste of £25 I M O ..

all mine i have used have also dropped to bits.... apart from one pair i had given by a customer...

they are orange soft grip rubber on the palm side, and cloth on the outside in yellow.... lovely and warm and totally bullett proof... gripease or something will look them up and put a photo on.

Wish mine were like trike's , I have no axe to grind. They were brill for about 6 weeks. Think I will try Gardiners  next. At moment using £3.50 gloves from Wilko are ok.

these are what i had given.... they are getting hammered by me and still look new.... inside of the palm is corse, brilliant grip, water proof for holding the pole..... as long as you dont dip your whole hand in water lol...

not washed them once, since november... look clean and new and dont smell at all.

I use 4 pairs of cheapish gloves and get different sizes so i can wear them over each other, ie lightweight close fitting, waterproof [ chemical gloves ] oversized etc etc bit like layering clothes , the idea is able to adapt to conditions

I reckon you must have got a rogue pair then,i`ve had mine 2 winters but i don`t wear them all the time only on bitter mornings.There bound to wear if you wear them day in day out all the time,i only find i need gloves first thing in the morning.

No my mate who sometimes posts on here bought a pair and he has had the same happen. As i said going to try Gardiners next as most of his gear is good.

I just use the green soft leather gardening gloves from Homebase. About £3.80 a pair. They do absorb water (a bit)  but they are cheap enough to have a couple of pairs on the go. They last for ages too.

I've tried all these window cleaning gloves and paid out a lot for rubbish in the past. IMO these homebase gloves are as good as any of them and better than most.

Down here in Cornwall the need for winter gloves is more limited, which is probably why I hate wearing winter weight gloves - I find them restrictive.

I do however like wearing summer-weight work gloves and wear these all year to protect my hands. What I have started doing this year is slipping a pair of latex gloves on underneath my summer-weight gloves. I have about 3 pairs of work gloves and when the first pair get soaked I switch gloves, but keep the latex under-gloves on. I have found that this gives me a good balance of ease of use, with protection from the chill factor.

Perhaps if I lived 'up country' this would not be enough and I would need the extra warmth of winter gloves.

I went through a pair of sealskins each year with wfp until last year when as soon as I got them I wrapped gaffer tape round the high wear points and wear a pair of polythene gloves underneath. If a finger drops off (the glove, that is  ) I just gaffer it back on.

I do this too. I have about 5 pairs of cheap semi waterproof gloves on the go. When one pair get soaked, usually after about 2 hours, I swap to another pair and dry the lot out that evening on a radiator in the house.
