I'm pretty sure it is; though it's been months and months since I filled in my tax return.

But I googled for the current rates yesturday morning and it clearly stated about the 10% tax band.

Too right too.  Why tax the low income workers when you could increase the middle and/or top end of higher earning tax payers?

Dave, because that's the way I like to work; it suits my round; no parking issues; I don't want to set the world on fire, just pay the bills and have a bit left over.

For the first £7455.00 you earn will only pay £223.00 tax. Beats working in Woolworths!!!

You still have to pay it!
When you have taken out all the other working/living expenses, not much left, never mind the £223.00 Tax
Now if I were earning say £30,000 - £130,000 a year, tax wouldn't faze me at all, I would still have "LOADS" left over!

The 10% is not back for those who are working, its only calulated on your savings.
