Just got a 40" ro should it go flat or upright? anyone got any tips?

looking at the pre filters and the way it is attached to the back board, I would say it stands upright. (not that it makes a difference which way, flat or upright)

Set it up a couple of hours ago and I can't believe the production rate. Goes in from mains 253 out at 2-3 and the pure flows like tap water.

I really can't believe this. I had a 300gpd plus booster pump and it comes out at a trickle i can hardly hear dripping into the ibc. Very often i've left it on all day and overnight just to fill the van.

I thought i'd got a good system. I didn't.

This isn't any dearer than the two combined (300gpd plus booster), doesn't require electric, and is lots quicker.

I really wish i had known about this sooner.

Because of the cold i had to take my 300  in, and then when my ibc froze up produce on the van overnight. When the time came to reconnect in situ i had problems and a flood blowing the house electrics and soaking thousands of pounds worth of stock. So i phone cleantech for a new pump because i've broke two. But There are no pumps available, i've got low mains pressure, so i asked what my options were, and this was suggested.

so far so good.

They are good and the output would double at least with a 24/7 pump I think mine was one of my better investments

we told you ages ago they were better lol,save the other 1 for filling the fish tank.

Silly question time.......................doesn't this require a membrane like a "normal" RO unit??

I very often fall into the trap of thinking i know everything.But i suppose suppliers tell us what they think we want to hear- the cheaper option is adequate. Anyway now I know.

is this similar or the same as you have then NWH? merlin, 4040, a 40" ro (which mine is apparently), it's all a blur to me.

40x40 is the best thing for us,look on gaps water at there twin RO with twin 20" pre fliters.The base model is about £2500 and makes more than you`ll ever use on your own or as a team,it`s almost silent in use and has built in flush mode as and when it will need it,just turn on and forget.

Clive I have my 4040's one upright and one sideways, it makes no difference, im glad you upgraded to a better ro 

I went for a 4040 straight away as I wanted the best straight away, I did after this try a 300 gpd and a merlin just to see what others were using, i sold both and now have 2 4040's you add a booster pump to your 4040 and make sure you hold on to something so you dont fall over 1000L in a couple of hours, I am all for saving time even if it costs more to start. As they say "time is money"

I had about 200 ltr left in my system last night, started producing at about 8 last night, went out at 8.20 this morning and the water was near the top but still filling, do you think i need a booster pump.

what size tank (if 1000ibc do you have low water pressure?  I guess you do, a booster pump will speed it up no end. So I would say yes Chris but dont leave it on over night or you will have a paddling pool by morning.

I had a paddling pool this morning, my booster pump turned up yesterday, fitted it....in the night the outlet pipe came off, what fun!!!!
