Flipper again
« on: January 06, 2009, 03:57:08 pm »
Right, i have a six inch wagtail (not my fault).
However i haven't used it because i don't particularly like it. BUT having looked at the videos i can see a use for a wagtail flipper on a pole - insides, inside conservatory roofs, inside skylights etc. Then there is always the possibility of a summer drought so maybe you could still go ladderless with one and keep working outside too. So i might order a flipper just for pole work alone, it should be possible to mount it to a wfpole - anyone tried that? do you need an adapter or can you jam it onto a vikan thread somehow? failing that a Harris pole would do. So fellow flipperhands out there - what's the most useful size do you reckon - 14"?

I have a 14 slimline wagtail and an 18 inch wagtail flipper.

They both fit on to a standard pole (cone end) If your going to use it for pole work the grey extension is really useful for getting the right angle. I have not tried on a wfp pole

I use the 14 for standard work and the flipper for pole work. Or the 14 for small windows high up.

Its fine for outside work too but you will need to do a bit of detailing (I use a fixi clamp with a microfiber) wfp is much quicker on whole,  but inside shopping centres where wfp is a problem the wagtail is the tool of choice.

Hope that helps  ;D

Don't know as I have never used a Zenorflex pole or anything similar but a "stiff" pole is much better for trad pole work as the control is much easier and therefore your detailing time is lessened.

Hope that helps.

The Zensorflex is intended to be my bash about gutter washing pole. I've found that when washing gutters and fascias with my SLX it gets a tad heavy after an hour or so and also the crud that washes off runs down the outside of the pole, so when i collapse it it starts to jam very quickly. I supose i could use it inside too, hadn't thought about it.
