hi guys i took the plunge today and bought myself 20 liters of isopropanol and work was top notch today .
this stuff is meant to stop fuel lines freezing so fingers crossed for my hose reel and tank and pump tomorrow. its also meant to aid in evaporation... it does froth up a bit but cback quick check and all was sparkling well pleased although it can be a bit pricey . looking at wikipedia though in its neat form it can cause defatting in the skin from prolonged use. so lets hope we get out of this cold snap soon

i know some  have paid 30 quid for 20 liters but i have been told make sure the people  who are selling ,have the proper saftey insurances etc as some run this business from their garage's. if i buy regular they will do twenty liters for about £48 inc vat but i hope to get it cheaper with ian as he is a mate  of his in chepstow they are based in lydney glos and are called The paramount group. www.the-paramountgroup.com

how much would i need for a 650lt tank then?

i was told between 100-300 ml per 100 liters...although today the water didnt freeze in the pipes at work it did freeze on the ground and window sills however it did not freeze on the glass like i expected it too

I don't use it and have never had water freeze on the glass. I've had it freeze in the brush bristles, the y piece, the pole hose and the pump but never on the glass.

i think it depens were you are water has froze on me several times this winter so it definatly happens, and there is not much you can do apart from wait for the temp to warm up

i spoke too soon, 2nd window this morning and what do you know a sheet of ice and i had ample isopropanol in the water and i use a trolley....   i hope today was just a freak of nature.

IPA and frozen all day  i even put the pipes in hot water then as soon as i started to clean the property it froze again. worked all day trad

Someone on here was posting earlier that you need to have a 20% mix of iso, so in 200 litres of water you'd 40 litres of iso, about 130 times what you put in

I might as well put the whole 25 ltrs in there for all i care right now. My worst day ever   i think it was getting wet when i slipped up first thing this morning that done it   whole bucket of warm water all over me

Must admit i'm getting tired of this weather now. I've just been collecting all over town and on the last house i could see in my mirror that one tyre was marking the frost more than the others - strange?
Got home and realised that the tank cap hadn't sealed properly because of ice in the threads, my van is saturated in the back now. Sponged up the worst and it instantly froze on my drive. I doubt i'll get the sliding doors open in the morning.

Probably, but i've replaced the moulded flooring with a rubber one that i can whip out if need be.

you need to drill a series of drainage holes, bit 6 " holes
