oh good start to the year snow on groud  about 2 inchs cannot much worse  i get nothing  done today got a full day aswell

No chance im working in this. spun my van all over the road last night up my drive, had to park it down the botttom. We've got about a 1/2 drive, but could not get it up.

Waters froze in van. Not good!

Went back for first day this year and lasted 1 and a half hours. I was only doing bungalows but nearly slipped on my a8se 3 times so gave up. Tipping it to get even colder tonight as well.

Ok in Wilts, warmest day for a long time could still be working now but finished early with a head ache - not used to work i suppose.

2 "gas taps" on 2 seperate poles "blew" on me in the space of half hour. exposure to the sub zero for 2 weeks. I had a bloody lousy day. i knew this morning, that i would :-(

We could not work today, and won't be tomorrow, North Wilts has been hit with a good layer of snow, which is not that common for us.
Our van struggled to get round some of the side streets today, and only had half a tank in it, we would have been stuck if we had a full tank.


Had a heater in the van all day & night Sunday, and will have the heater in there tonight to stop any damage occuring, but at a possible -5 during the night I have brought the hoses indoors.
Not even going to try with that much snow on the ground here. 

On a positive note, we did not waste our day, and leafletted 3 estates where we have only a couple of custies.....

  I started at 6-30 and worked non stop till 4.

  Yes it was cold, and it did snow on and off all day, but just get stuck into it and earn some money, make sure you have a heater in the van at night, just a small oil filled radiator is sufficient to stop it freezing.

  On a plus side, all the new starters will soon be put off if we have a couple of weeks of these temperatures.

I worked today all on ladder though! wernt to bad here but need to get a heater in the back of van to thaw things out for 30mins or so.

I nursed my kit back into working order over the weekend (defrosting pipework, taps, barrels, brushes etc).

Went in today. Was good to be back;  Oh! how I felt for the guys up ladders today

started at 9am , cars in ditches everywhere road blocked  to where I wanted to go, got to village 1 hour later. Did 10 jobs 3 cups coffee of custies 1 bottle wine ( late xmas pressie) of another fin at 2pm £ 80.00 takeins, then I put 90 leaflets via letter boxes for new custies  fingers crossed. oh and I'm a  ;traditional window cleaner.

took trolley inside last night and my ro and my 25ltr di for when i
cant make any water. worked 11 - 3pm today then it went too cold
picked up three new customers that seven in the last week,the cold
weather doesnt seem to be doing me any harm

worked all day today and on ladders with me and the young lad taking it in turns footing them. Probably the warmest day we've had for over a week here in Shropshire

We went out in -4 C this morning; though it honestly didn't feel cold; the sun was shining and it is a beautiful day.

But as we worked, everything started to freeze and we packed up not long after we started.  I could say we earned £60 but we didn't really, since we've got to return to finish off a few houses tomorrow.  We sacked it when my brush head froze.

Even doing it trad was a pain in the shade, despite using half a bottle of screen wash in the bucket; it was still freezing almost straight away as soon as the applicator hit the window.

I also don't think it's safe; even sprinkling liberal doses of table salt all over the place; the water was still freezing in some places.

It was entertaining though; we honestly didn't stop laughing.

Apart from a frozen pump today - one of three pumps on our main van.
 We started a major gutter,soffit,fascia and window cleaning contract on a very large housing estate yesterday, going well but a bit slower than normal as had to wait for the snow to start thawing in the gutters.
