You will suddenly find a lot of friends with the current job situation. They will be keen to join someone who has work.
I use a couple of established window cleaners who help me on some big jobs. They do  good work,  give me an invoice for the day, I give them a cheque - job done.
Otherwise, remember the old saying:-
LOVE A LOT, TRUST A FEW, BUT ALWAYS PADDLE YOUR OWN CANOE
