For a decent window cleaning website, what sections would you say it had to have? I have come up with a list here but would appreciate any feedback or other sections I have missed?

Online Estimator

I would never add an online estimator to my site... Quoting a house correctly means you actually looking at possible access issues etc... Not just adding up the number of windows and doors a house has.

If a customer used your estimator and it came up with a quote of £15... They then ask you to visit them to look at it and you quote them £20 you will probably loose the sell.

These are only meant to be a list of potential sections as some users would want some and other users would want others. I didnt mean that they would all be included just trying to compile a list of possible ones.

Hi Ronnie,

I see you've got the IOSH logo on you site but it doesnt say why?

Are you a member of IOSH? Or do you run courses?

I'll be joining IOSH in about five weeks at Technician level (Tech IOSH) and asked them about using their logo and they said you werent allowed to use it unless you were one of their approved course providers.

I was told - You can link to their site to explain what IOSH is, but not put their logo on your site???

it was put there from the course i did but i was told when i did the course this wouldnt be a problem? its been on for years without any problems put ill put it on my list of things to look into.

Its a great logo and virtually everyone knows what it stand for....thats why I wanted to use it too!

If you actually say its an estimate and not a confirmed quotation as you have to take other  things into consideration such as access, parking, issues etc, then they know what sort of quote they are likely to get from you.

You also need to take into consideration how often they want them done or a one off.

The estimator gives them a figure to expect to start off with.

Saves turning up only for them to have a heart attack when you tell them.

I understand both sides of the argument.

It was just a piece of code that I came up with for anyone to use on their site and its been used quite a bit - please feel free to use it on yours if you wish.

I thought I would ask the question to ISOH and this is there reply in regards to logo usage.

I asked...

"If you have taken a course or are a member, Are you able to use the ISOH logo on your website to show your membership or accreditation?"

The reply I got was quite clear....

"Thank you for your email. I am afraid that we do not allow our logo to be used in the manner you have described."

Hope that clears it up
