Hi
What sort of things does the client ask you to do? it depends what was agreed at the interview and what you are happy to do. I have one who has started to ask me to change the beds another asked me to clean the conservatory on the outside, both I am happy to do it depends on you.

Always a hard one this.
Because you charge by the hour they think they ask anything to fill your time.
Price per job is better but not always easy to get.

Sit client down and agree a schedule of work, what when how

As you get accustomed to the work you get quicker so client wants her "hours worth"it is much better to agree what work is to be completed and make that work fit the time.

Do not walk the dog or wait in for the plumber or decorator or take in the washing or or or unless agreed in the begining.

We now offer a set service for a fixed price, hourly rate doesn't come in to it.
ie kitchen bathroom and bedrooms cleaned for £......

Liken it to window cleaning, they agree a price for all the windows to be cleaned not an hourly rate...............it takes a little while to adjust to the idea but once it clicks it makes all the difference

what is the weirdest task you have been asked to do?

This is the fun bit

you just work out how long it takes you to do a job

Say ie one hour for kitchen one hour bathroom and two hours for the beds

four hours times hourly rate ie 4 x £10.00 = £40.00

your flyer says two bedrooms bathroom and kitchen cleaned from only £39.99

always do the job very well but crack on with the time

remember they are paying for the job done not your time so do it as quickly as you can say within 3 hours and your earning rate goes up

no hours for them to fill no add ons unless they ask and pay for them
