EMERGENCY Cold WARNING

Please dont ignore this its meant with your best intentions. The current prolonged freezing Moscow type weather will freeze your equipement solid. Keep it warm with heat of any sort, paraffin/lightbilbs elecy heaters etc.
Its a pain not being able to work but having your stuff ruined will cost you money and lost time as most suppliers maybe on hols.

Took me three hours to thaw my hoses the other day. I hope that it doesn't get much colder.

I have a 500 litre tank out in the garden and it as far as I can tell is frozen solid...we have recently had temps between -3 and -7 and this morning it has become much warmer it is -0.1 so I think the tank will take a good week to thaw out...lucky I have a spare 650litre tank in the shed... :-)
But I think more cold snaps are on there way......
Dave.

Upgrade to EMERGENCY
OK my rainwater IBC is frozen solid and no water coming out. Never experienced this and am down to my 2 emergency 200L butts in then garage. and the RO) which hasnt been uswed for 2 years Its going to take weeks to thaw the IBC. I have brought enough water and the essential equipement, for tomorrow, inside and left the van heater on even though theres nothing in the van-much.Managed to get 5 hours in today
The next 2 week forecast is not looking good. Take care out there.
Dont believe the guys that say I am taking the day off, they cannot afford it any more than you or me can.

sigh....
Had my suntube and oil filled radiator going over Christmas. No problems at all with the system. All nice and warm and not a single piece of ice anywhere!
......My van battery was as flat as a pancake this morning
Now I've got to pay out £20 to get my radio un-coded

Even though we can stop our vans from freezing up we cant do much about the water freezing on the glass like it did for me the other week and I reckon thats what will happen tomorrow as its gonna be around -5 at 8 o clock in the morning will probably be about midday before it even starts to thaw out a bit!

I have mounted my pump, controller and 100m hosr reel on a printers pallet. The pump is connected to the tank via a push fit. When i get home, i disconect the push fit and lift out the reel, pump and contoller in one. Sit it in the garage and it dont freeze. 5 mins to put in or out
