my RO pipe to my rain water butt's have been frozen since the day before christmas eve, just not thawed yet

I spent a couple of hours yesterday Matt outside with my missus' hair-dryer defrosting everything. The frost was well into everything on the outside pipe-work and would have worked its way further in  making defrosting even harder. So its all defrosted now and covered with blankets, hopefullly it'll stay defrosted from now on and work will be okay come Monday.

let us know Matt.
If its started to go into the unit treat as a normal frozen pipe, if you cannot undo  joints cut through the hoze as near to the unit as possible then use heat to slowly thaw from the cold frozen part towards the liquid water (and oh boy do I mean slowly) hopefully still inside the unit. Do it wrong and you will split the RO case if that has unluckily frozen solid

the RO is a fair way into the garage that is part of the house and it not that cold

it didnt even get into the garage, the pipe at the garage door is hard and about 1 M inside its still bendy

I wanted to bring my RO in last night but i couldnt turn the main tap off or un plug it...hope its ok

Thats good Matt.
My garage is a single skin concrete block 35 metres away in a cold yard and although  I Have a heated box lean-to onto the water supply with the RO in it, the garage next door is unheated and 6 years ago after weeks of below temps the rising cold water main attatched to the un heated neighbours wall froze  solid and I had to wait until the thaw, luckily no burst pipes !

LWC if its still producing RO and waste water all is well, keep it warm and flowing the waste may freeze up and you may get a leaky joint but just let it run into a bin that you can empty.

i am going to have to gather all the pipes and bung them in a IKEA bag ( very nice to keep all out beach kit in aswell ) and bring them into the house, they will then defrost and i can produce water then

We have 2 hosereels in the vans, one microbore and the other tricoflex, and a number of times this week the microbore has frozen up, but the tricoflex has been fine.
 Water has been freezing running down the outside of the poles, and freezing on some of the double glazed units, especially on conservatories.

I've got same problems as above though did manage to fill my tank in my van on Tuesday. Unless outside temp is 4 or above I can't see myself doing a lot because although the sun maybe shining on one part of house the part that doesn't get any sun will still be frosty hence water freezing etc. Using ladders just defeats everything that youve done since converting to wfp. Plus youd have more to explain to your custies etc.

No it won't.

I used to stay at home if my WFP pipes or whatever froze earning nothing.

Now i just use my ladders and if a customer says anything i just say with the current low temperatures it to risky using wfp incase the water freezes and i would hate anyone to slip over on water that froze that i left behind.

I have lost to much money with freezing pipes that i don't even both with WFP if the temerature is low enough for the water to freeze.

I would rather use ladders and clean traditional than earn nothing at all.

i have flushed ice into my RO a few times and nothing has happened to it...    still  good..

Yes but no but yeh. Its also when the ice reverse freezes back from the outlet into the unit. ?
