Home Made DI Vessel, worth a try?
« on: March 10, 2005, 10:53:45 am »

As you've probably seen at gaps water, a vessel is £76 + ship + vat + DI Resin... ouch

http://www.gapswater.co.uk/c3237.html

Or how about a AquaTec 10 Litre DI vessel and DI resin £160...

Or how about making one yourself (about £30) + resin?

I was thinking of some 4" waste pipe, two end caps (one with screw top for refilling). Then in the caps put a hozelock fitting at each end, hold the tub up vertically and introduce the water from the top. A filter would be needed at the bottom hozelock fitting to stop resin flowing down the hose, and some sort of mounting would be needed on the caps for the hozelock fittings. When your resin seems to be failing, give the pipe a shake and it should improve for a short while again because of channelling.

What does every one reckon? I need to find the right hozelock fittings, any ideas?

Thanks lads, this is just an idea, so don't flame me too much, I'm just trying to help...
