my round of just over 100 customers averages at £11 per house, i offer 4 or 8 weekly cleans the vast majority go for 4 weekly,

it doesnt matter if i think the windows are still clean after 4 weeks its my customers choice if they want to have them cleaned then i will happily take there money

£5 is a rough guess cos i cant be bothered to work it out and i must have about 6-700 customers(again a rough guess). 65% monthly and 35% fortnightly and guess what,

every 4 weeks to maintain them to a good standard of cleanliness

I remember reading a post on here that said target £30 per hour as an ave, nothing about £x per house , i personally price to get the job.
If i worked on £ per hr my best job is 2  6x3 shop windows for £5 takes about 1 min = £300 per hour [ it's the only one i do trad ]  but it's my worst one for price !
I do a restaurant for £30 it takes about 30mins but access is a pain the best time to do it is 7am either Sat or Sun.
Just took on 2 x farmhouses £20 for both takes an hour [ round the corner from my mums ] never anyone in dead peaceful lovely views should be £40 min but knew if i quoted what it's worth she'd knock me back .
It's all horses for courses as i build my business i will loose the ones i dont like 1st then the ones that are too cheap.

iv only got about 32 houses on my books plus i few i go n do if i can be bothered my average house prices works out at £17 just wondering how this compares to others i live up in the north between liverpool and chester.

iv got to get out there canvassing but can never be bothered and build up my round!!!

iv put a lot of mine on 8 weekly coz im sick of turning up and the windows still gleaming.

Richy i've read a lot of your posts and you seem a guy keen to get out there and have a go ? this post reads awful you ok mate??

i have some very good earning houses, which would push the mean average right up

though in general, mine would be a little over 10 quid

I think at the end of the day everyone elses average should not be a worry. It should just be a case of does my average keep a roof over my head.
for me when I was setting up, I worked out what I needed per year, then broke that to a monthy target, then weekly, after that i worked out how much I was willing to do to earn it.
now that gives me my target

Sounds to me like you are not a very motivated person.
If £17 avg per house cant get you motivated i dont know what will,there would be many a wc (on here and all over the uk) who would like an avge like that.
As Andrew said 15 per day gives a very nice income indeed,well above the avge of what most wc's take...so get out there man a do the right thing...

lovewindows im fine thanks mate maybe it does read wrong im not unmotivated at all iv done loads and loads of leaflet drops just due to other circumstances i find it difficult to get out in the evening and canvass door to door, probobly a bit apprehensive too  bout gettin out there knocking once id done a few n get into the stride il be ok!!

just a bit peed off the way the bloke said wat am i doin goin for a job like this etc that i should sell my work straight away iv been concentrating on other things with my business first trying to get a professional setup then start approaching customers first.

I think that we may need to look at the bigger picture....

Each day I record start/finish time, start/finish milage, total water used per day, tot houses cleaned and of course total money earnt per day....

When you have enough 'numbers' you would be able to work out your averages...it's not until you dig deeper that you will be able to see what and how your work is producing. Hey we all spend money on our business's so these costs need to be factored also...

Just using x number of houses divided by the total income will give you a very false indication of how your business is working for you.

I have to admit that I have averaged 5hrs 56 minutes out of the house for every day I have worked this year...and I average 55.6kms driven per day so my round would appear at first glance to be a part time affair but when the end of year totals are worked out....my round seems to be producing well and with scope to increase without  needing to work myself into the ground either...but guys lets not throw our numbers around..it's just not cricket

6 hours a day out of the house is good eh, i know some days you obviously do more as that is an avreage, but sounds good to me

I tend to do really long days in summer and have more time off drinking in the sun

whereas winter i do short days but out most days, but it makes it bearable
