What are the pitfalls, in your opinion.. of using the water fed pole system,

and what do you like about it most.

I Love the speed of it... and i hate the dirty hoses wrapping around my legs, and tripping over it, and it snagging on everything.

The biggest drawback for me is not seeing the end result.
It doesn't matter much now as i have more experience of it, but when i 1st got it i had a few problems with the finish on certain types of windows.

The best thing is the speed a job can be safely done, once they have come up good 1st time with wfp.

I would say it's the best thing ever on first cleans. I'm not saying you are doing something wrong, but the transformation that you can bring to a house using wfp is phenomenal. Upstairs sills, mmmyea, I would say it can be a pain, purely because you just can't see it, but once they are clean, and you do them every time, they should stay reasonably clean.

It is the best thing I have ever done for my business. Safer, faster and more efficient. Of course to get these benefits you do have to spend some time and effort maintaining the systems etc. and researching methods and equipment. In my mind this is not a downside just the way life works.

Wfp does have a downside...you cant use it indoors...well you can if you want to spend a fortune.
It is a safe and profitable method of cleaning exterior windows,cladding and fascias and as a previous trad cleaner using ladders i would thoroughly recommend wfp to anyone.
However i suggest that all wc's learn to use trad gear as it is definatly needed sometimes.

Same for me. I switched over last year and haven't looked back. Actual work is quicker, safer and more efficiant. Theres nothing negative about it. Though preperation work is obviously more time consuming than with trad. Eg Filling tank every night.

Absolutely, I would recommend that to every starting window cleaner as well. Traditional skills are invaluable to know, not just for doing the insides, but you do get an understanding of cleaning windows that you don't necessarily get with wfp.

Hose coming disconnected from the pole and getting water squirted up your leg.
Some div parking on your hose whilst you're round the back.
Water bill.

No freezing ally ladders.
No black hands from ladders.
No walking dogs mess up every rung, and not realizing till you're on your way down.
Twice as fast.
Not turning down jobs cos the ground is eneven.
People saying 'ooh, thats a big one' instead of 'you missed a bit'

Pros...

In 2 years from nothing I am now at home (round was built and able to get me a mortgage) at 15:15 having done my allocated work for the day...tank is full for tommorrow and all admin is done.

Start most days at 09:00 and normally home by 3.

WFP can be quick and is gets the job done.

Cons:
Not really being able to see the end result, this really concerns me sometimes.

Hoses getting snagged on the 1 single possible place that it could.

Have to keep sending money to Alex. G everytime he comes out with a new brush

i cant think of any bad points,yeah sometimes u need to do a reclean,but it takes 2 mins to do and keeps the customer happy that ure willing to do it,loads quicker,safer and even more practical in certain areas,would never go back to ladders

Can cost alot of money when things go wrong but can do conservitory roofs with ease.
