Removing coloured Film internal

Anyone got suggestions for removing residue left on window from that coloured film stuff people put on windows to black them out ? stuffs been on for years custys got the film off wants me to get residue off , its really ingrained and there's about 50 panes.

Is it like smoked glass? We used wd40 once on some stuff which was a real pain in the backside. Also going to need 100's of blades best in the 15cm unger ones

clover chemicals do a tar and gum remover that works you'll have to look on their web site i have used it to remove the sticky residue left by cellotape and masking tape

tried it on one it does work , not brilliant but works, i'm sure i read somewhere it's the cfc's that do it [ the propellent] just looking for something else under the sink/in shed thats got cfc's that i've got loads of.

Use a hair dryer then scrap off with scraper, works fine.

you know what ? farted about with wd40 and other stuff, in the end WET window, unger scraper [ which wasn't that good] and BEST of all ELBOW grease.
