John,

If you could help me I would appreciate it.

Firstly that number is Leeds, West Yorkshire
What is the colour of the lettering that reads 'GleamClean'?
Have they used any logo in or around that name, if so could you describe it along with colour?

Thanks
Pete

Thanks

Barbera

Do you currently have wealthy Clients who are likely to need a remodelling?  ;)

I was actually thinking about this today before reading this post. People who want their homes re-freshed eg. painted, new curtains etc would probably want carpets & sofas cleaned (if they're not replacing them)!

Some people round here do have a bit of spare cash, and I'm trying to come up with some marketing ideas.
I'm getting in my car tomorrow with postcards up the industrial/office parks - see how I get on, wish me luck

You may think you are a cleaner but we are so much more than that. I have added the 3 Rooms for £99 to my website for work in January

Well that doesn't add up.
You implied that I was too cheap, and then go on to say that you are aiming for top rates on top notch properties, but then advertise 3 rooms for £99?

As for the term Cleaner, whilst we all know that we run a business and all that's involved with it, but what are the public after? A Cleaner but a cleaner who cleans carpets, nothing more nothing less. They don't give a jot that we spent evenings/weekends cleaning/servicing our machinery, whilst looking through catologues/web sites for solutions to buy etc
All they see is a cleaner...no qualifications needed, no credentials needed just someone who will CLEAN A CARPET.

Many dentists including those who do NHS work have to run their surgeries as a business, and that's after getting University qualifications, don't charge per hour what some carpet cleaners are charging (and without a single GCSE to their names).

Most of my work is now referrals which means my overheads are going down by £1,000's per year. Which means I don't have to make good that money from customers.

Neil

Jan is always quiet, last year I did 50% off and had the best Jan ever, worked twice as hard but earned alot of money. If i had not done this then I would not have worked very much I dont think in Jan. I only ever offer this in Jan but will allow bookings for feb, March back to normal.

I have 9 GSCE's A levels and a degree in IT. I bet alot on here have qualifications in something. I started this business because I wanted to do something different from my normal 80 hr weeks I was doing in IT. You cant compare anything we do to other Jobs, Why do people always compare, you are worth what your customers think you are worth.

I always try and sell high and I have picked up a number of contracts this year that have changed my business, Is this because of my cleaning, no its because I Wine and Dined them and sold what I had to offer, If I only charged £40 an hour for the work they would have just thought i was to cheap and looked elsewhere.

Why is getting more than £40 a bad thing, Dentist Charge upwards of £1000 for a Route filling, it takes 3 hrs to do and I imagine cost are peanuts. If you've always been a Window/Carpet Cleaner then I can understand why you think that we are only cleaners but I havent and hate it when people describe us as cleaners.

Cleaning is the end product in a excercise to make money, Marketing Selling and Customers Services, these are more important as this is what brings the money in.

Why drop your prices because you are saving on marketing, the whole point of this is to make money and do a damn good job. Market more and grow the business if thats the case and cherry pick the jobs you want.
