Hi Matt,
Id give the layflat hose a go, i had about 30m of that corrugated hose and its not about 10m long (if that), its split easily and piddles everywhere, highly annoying as it aint cheap!

It pumps out really fast through it.
Not sure about the flat hose.

1 1/4 inch hose.
I've used for 2 1/2 years now. No splits or any other problems. Gets a bit stiff in the winter though.
I think it is corrugated.

not so sure on costing of corrigated tubeing but the lay flat hose cost me £22 for 2 10mtr packs then had to join in the centre wth plastic tube and 2 jubilee clips so for the sake of £22 id say lay flat
