« on: November 29, 2008, 10:49:04 am »
Has anyone who is vat registered and got George configured to show gross figures, pressed that button yet.

This is something that has been bugging me all week now, will it work, i darent press it.

Will it just keep the gross figure the same but raise the net, which is what i think it will do and what i am hoping it wont do

The other thing is will it adjust all your previous figures to......?

Might be worth borrowing a laptop or another computer and put the trial version on it, add your back up and do the change and see what happens......

I have now pressed the big button, the vat summary totals looked the same so no problems there.

Also reprinted a couple of old invoices and they look ok, seems like the vat history remains intact.

Seeing as there is no reply from Georgesystems, I will have to manually change over 600 jobs, looks like i will be busy for a few days.

Then I will have to undo it all again next Christmas.

Wheres my calculator ?

Does anyone have a quick calculation to work out how to minus the 17.5% and then add 15%, is there a way to just knock off the 2.5% easily off the gross amount.

I have just worked out the magic figure to find what the new gross should be when reducing gross prices.

Take the old figure then minus 2.12766 %  , this will give you the new gross figure

so £117.50 - 2.12766% = £115.00

It work for all figures, If using a calculator it is the figure which shows when you press the % button, do not press the  " = " button

Hope this helps

Re: VAT Change......

Hi MrH

Look in System/Settings/VAT

If the "Job prices INCLUDE VAT" box is ticked, the price will stay
the same but the net will increase - if not, the price will increase.

The rate will change from the time you amend it - it won't affect
earlier transactions so don't change it till Monday morning. You
might want to invoice any outstanding items before you do that.

Or just put your total amount in here at 15% http://www.taxcentral.co.uk/taxcentral/home/vat/vatcalculator/default.asp but remember any invoices you put out today has to be at 15% regardless if it was work done from last month (Nov)
