I need some advice on how to get rid of the smell of cat urine. I went to survey a job yesterday for a large estate who we do a lot of business for, mainly carpet cleaning and window cleaning.
They have a house which has just been vacated and the place is STINKING with cat urine. We have ripped all the carpets out but they were foam backed ones and when we lifted them the backing stayed stuck to the concrete and wood flooring!
We have now scraped off all the foam backing from the floors and I intend to sand all the floors back to remove the remnants of foam.
However, even with the carpets out and the backing lifted, the place still stinks to high heaven and you can see the urine stains in the actual flooring.
Does anyone have any idea of what can I use to get rid of this smell, do I need to reseal the floors? Has anyone come across this type of thing before?
The owner is keen to get this back on the market asap so we have been given free rein to get it sorted as whatever cost, without having to replace all the floors!!
Any help would be appreciated
