i,ve started leaving my varistream on all day , saves a little time not having to keep turning it on and off also the battery seems to last a lot longer , anyone else find this is the case regards alan

I leave mine on from start to finish - If I'm doing insides or something that will take a while I will turn it off, but window cleaning I leave it on. I have a split charge system and I operate between two towns so the battery is always getting a charge so its no problem.

i always switch mine on when i start first job, gets turned of at the end of the day,

if set correctly, and all connection tight , there will be no problems.

i leave mine on too, and i run mine off the main van battery, thats 2 varistreams. as said if connections are tight its not a problem as varistream shuts the pump off

I used to leave mine on all day ................ untill a connector failed whilst i was having lunch and the varistream tried to pump 650l into the back of my van and in the cab.  :

I always thought that if you leave it on it would be working harder, rather longer and thus wearing it out quicker, I mean reducing it's life expectancy!

Am I wrong then?

I switch mine on in the morning & its left on all day.

My varistream & pump are now 3 years old

if you have the mk 1 or mk2 version , leaving it on will actually extend the life of the switch,and therefore the unit itself,

leaving the digital version on should not reduce it's life either.

Cheers for that, I use the digital.
I switch it off routinely because I just know I would forget at the end of the day... and then come the next day I'd have a flat battery!
