I just want to know if Discount is earning £1.5 per week as he said last night?

Hey, that's not bad for someone who hasn't been a window cleaner for two-years yet.

I want to know how he does it?  We all could learn something from him.

got to admit i would like to know how he does it too , does he employ people yet because as a sole trader it sounds over the top unless his prices are very high but if he is doing it good luck to him.

No, he advertises himself as a cheap window cleaner; honest.

tosh iv been window cleaning 3 years and i would say that turnover of 1.5k is well possible.

I have on full time employee and turnover more than that, my business has been going 3 years but every day iv learnt something evry time some thing goes wrong i learn from it i strive to be the best give the best service and work hard.

i believe what discount says to be true but there are so many sceptics beacause......please dont atke this to heart any one cause of the green eyed monster.........why can he earn £??? but i cant iv been doing it 15years so he must be lieing, thats how they see it!

Do you believe in fairies too?  What about James Bond?  I'm getting dragged off to see it when Wor Lass gets back from the hairdressers.

Is that a true story?

Unfortunately though, I'm not the guillable type; of course anything is possible within certain parameters, but I know enough about people and window cleaning to know what's likely and what isn't.

tosh look at your reaction again typical from an officer who is above him self and thinks he always knows best, your to use to telling people what to do you actually think you know best so if you cant do it cant be done.

I was once in the army but i left cause it was full of know it alls and people who liked to be heard ::)

Ronnie,  you're making me smile, mate.

It was Discount who suggested he was 'officer class' when he said I was being held back by those types:
Quote
But held back by disgruntlement at officer class (me?)

(That made me smile too).

And I wasn't an officer, I was a Staff Sergeant in a Warrant Officer's post; and a Warrant Officer isn't a 'proper officer' (such as Prince 'arry is); they don't hold the Queens commission.

Sigh!

if he is turning over 1.5 k a week then he must be vat registered which puts another 17,5% percent extra on all his domestic accounts to be turning over this amount his prices would have to be very high before the dreaded vat so like tosh i think it is a bit of a jackanory, i am not saying that on the odd very good week this is not possible but regular as a one man band i doubt it very much.

...after just two years window cleaning when his first years turn-over was only £18K, his second year turnover is somehow now £50K+?

I bet discount struggles with a squeegy for inside work!

I think people are being a bit unfair on Discount, it seems like a bit of ganging up to me, what he said was

I don't ache now, the customers seem to like me and my views on earnings are now to target 1.5k weekly I said target not that i'm achieving this and I very often have to work saturdays

Nowhere does it say he is achieving that figure

I say good look to him , he has a target, a tough target and i am sure he will have a good go at getting it.

I read it to say his veiew on earnings are now to target £1.5 weekly, not that he's achieving this, and he very often has to work Saturdays.

This implies to me that he can't do it Mon to Fri, and has to work overtime on a Saturday to hit his £1.5K target.

How else can you read that?

If he doesn't want me to pick him up on it, why mention earnings at all?

Dave, you know I love splitting hairs, don't you.  ;D

Read through the post again, on the first page, you'll see Discount doesn't deny that he's not making £1.5K after I initially pull him about it.

Instead he tries to put me down; but there's no denial; so he was saying he's making £1.5K a week; which is top for a n00b with less than two-years experience.

I know guys with posh vans and who live in smart houses who've been cleaning windows for 20 years, not earning that.

tosh has iv said iv delt with people like your self you doubt it cause you cat do it it so it must be true, open yours eyes would you believe that some one could go from running a taxi to becoming a millionaire entrepeneur?

too many people go out to slag people down and its usually cause there jealous they think how can he possibly be telling the truth iv been doing it years i know everything bout window cleasning but i cant come near.........well maybe instead of putting some one down channel your energy into improving your business.

This is not a dig at any one but my opinion.

and about vat he may still be below the vat threshold with holidays and not always hitting is target and if he has hit the threshold he doesnt have to add 17.5% percent he could go on the flat rate10%(tostart then 11%) and include this to take the hit.

My apologies, you are right , he did not reply to defend it.

I read someone elses reply defending what he said, not his.

Dave,

Today is Saturday, and it's a good few hours till night.

Don't tell me that not only can Discount earn £1.5K per week as a sole trader in less than two-years;  he can aso travel forwards into time too.

Personally, I reckon there's more chance of the latter than the former, but I'll give it a rest.

Anyway, I've had my fun and now I need some food.
