Hi all,
Can we have some feedback from all of you L5 users. The good, bad and ugly.
Is it worth the hassle? What difference to cleaning has hot water made. Etc

cheap
needs flow switch mod to allow use with less flow rate
works better with thermobore hose (worked today with it for first time hose doesnt go stretchy and retains more heat)
found unit a little temperamental ,it turns off gas when water flow stops but sometimes doesnt re-light ,  i think the igniter fires before the gas flow is released and misses it occasssionaly.

a little annoying because if you are out of sight you dont  know unitil water goes cold

working with hot water is not over hyped it does make life easier and quicker, but working with warm water is ive found it good at 50 degrees + but seemed pointless below 30 degrees as job needed as much work.

overall opinion is it is good and  i dont regret it

It probobly dosen`t re light because your using a low flow rate,it`s supposed to work on a flow of 2ltrs a minute.

no mods just bypass be for L5 works well no its not over hiyped . thormo bore at a later date for i think

I`m still thinking about where to put it as a fixture,with it on the back door everytime i close and open them i`m worried about snagging hoses etc especially the gas hose by law there only allowed to supply 2 meters although i think that will be long enough.

Thanks for the feedback. I think its good to get this kind of feedback as I am sure there are alot of us wanting to know how you are all getting on with the unit before deciding wheather to down the same path.

Oh they work,a couple of fittings and a bottle of gas and your hot to trott mate,cheaper than 3k and less hassle.

That`s fine but i don`t have a bulkhead at the moment,i think if i get a proper bulkhead it will eliminate any worries of fumes etc.

has anyone used an L5 as a heater outside the van, i was thinking of mounting on a trolley and connecting it to external port in van then to microbore hose, this way i do away with fumes problem and i would only take it with me for first cleans or dirty commercial jobs.

I can't see why it wouldn't work, unless the conditions were windy & it might blow out the flame?
I'd be interested to see this idea tried out!

You'd need a tiny gas bottle though,... probably much more costly in the long run than using the big ones.

Got mine up and running today,fires up straight away water heats up really well and takes 1-2 mins to cover the 100 mts hose to brushhead,think I will need to turn gas down as its too hot for really cold glass on max,the hardest thing to do was to find a sensible location for gas cylinder so meant a bit of a change around in the van,I got a 19kg cylinder as thought it best in the long run.For the first time in a while,quite looking forward to work on monday,,hope its chilly

I run my heater on minimum heat most days. The L5 is a little less powerful, but still keep an eye on the temp on cold days!

What gas do you use with the L5,the bloke where i went didn`t seem to know what i needed lol.

Propane or butane will both work fine,.. its made for propane tho.

keep in mind Propane freezes at a much lower point that Butane
