i pay all my cheques into my personal account at natwest, never had to pay any chargers, never been questioned about it either in over 2 1/2 years.
to the guys who use there own personal accounts to bank there business cheques, could I ask how many cheques you bank on average per week ?
I have always used a private account. Even when I invoice large and small companies I always say at the bottom of the invoice to make it payable to "...." i.e me. I have never come across a problem yet and some of them do bacs which again go direct to my private account.
new to window cleaning, just started to collect by cheque, does anybody know how many cheques you are allowed to cash before your bank starts to charge, and would they change your bank account to a business account?? cheers in advance

There are other things thrown in too but can't remember it all.Another alternative is to start a business banking account with Abbey. 100 cheques a month and about £3,000 cash a month before charging. Must do all transactions via cashpoint though so no coins. Electronic transfers are free so if you get a number of your custies doing BACS transfers, it will reduce the number of cheques. I've used it for a number of years and never exceeded 100 yet. Occasionally I've held off making cheque deposits for a couple of days to stay within the boundaries.
