can some 1 tell me whats the best agitator to get for carpet to bring pile
up before extracting if so were to get and best price.

I use an Envirodri    envirodri.com
Host is similar

but Solutions UK and Restormate have similar machines for sale with vac extreaction similar to the Host machine but a lot cheaper.

sebos good but light, which suits me, I bought one recently.

hear the envirodrys good for harder agitation.

Something not mentioned on these forums any more is powerscrubs, I still use one somtimes with my TM and its fantastic!

and being 15" can work quickly through large areas.

Mines an alltec rotobrush 15" not sure they sell it anymore but the old man bought it about 12 years ago for £1,800

i am looking at the sebo but a lot of money any 1 know were their going cheap

The other products being mentioned are hundreds more.

Having said that I am waiting to hear about an envirodri for sale - if I can get that for a sensible price you can have my sebo duo for £ 50

Ian, got a customer the other day wanted to buy a pile brush - said her carpet never looked better.

I find that a pile/grooming brush is fine for grooming the carpet after HWE, it finishes the job really well, helps provide the wow factor for the customer!

But using a hand brush of any sort will do next to nothing to lift the pile and very little to agitate any MS or presprays!

I use a sebo to agitate One Step as well as lift the carpet pile, it dramatically improves the job we do.  In realising the improvement that the sebo generates as a agitator and pile lifter, it encourages me to go for an envirodri or similar, it can only take the end result to another level.

 I had one also who wanted to buy one.

I am really supprised there is no wholsle company that will sell us products to sell on our websites etc And as add ons when in the home where we make 50% and still give customer good deal. Buying from our current suppliers is not a good deal for customers.

Harvey what do you think cleaners used before they all got lazy and aquired sebo duos because every one else had one etc

Disagree with you Harvey.
Long handled pile brush does an excellant job if used proper.
The ladys carpet in question was a longish twist and looked good even after the prespray brush because of that.
Even better after the clean obviously.

Your right Joe, i still use a pile brush for agitation 90% of the time and the rotary machine the other 10%.
On your average domestic job the pile brush is more than capable in the right hands

I sometimes use the brush or the rotory and follow up after on all the cleans with a buffer as i find it helps to take a little bit more moisture from the carpet

Looks like i am outnumbered here

I suppose the point that i made was more pointed at pile lifting rather than agitation. 

IMO there is no way that standard grooming brush can lift the pile even a small % of efficiency of a sebo, as for agitation well i can only presume similar but maybe Micro Splitters need less working into the carpet than i had been led to believe!

I know that after i have used the sebo thoroughly the carpet often appears much cleaner and generally speaking would be suprised if i could get similar results with a grooming brush

Anyways i am sure that on some carpets a grooming brush would do a fine job    (there we go  i think i talked my way out of that one)

pile brush is good for removing hair/dust, thats about it imo.
