Im back, what have i missed
« on: November 10, 2008, 08:42:51 pm »
back to work on wednesday for me, as i have a appointment for my hernia tomorrow

so what have i missed, by a quick look at the forum it seems Tosh is on a drive to get everyman and his dog to try the RT Zensorflex  ;D ;D ;D

incase any1 is interested, i had a cracking time  :) :) :), 1 thing about disney in orlando is you know its going to be good, but it allways beats your expectations

not a drop of rain, we had 1 shower when we were having lunch, temps in high 70's low to mid  80's, not scorching but warn enough for T-shirt and shorts all the time, has it rained much here ?? ?  the ground was soaked when i picked up the car this morning from the parking at gatwick, i took a short cut across some grass and it was like a swamp

hows the L5 water heater's going ? ? ? ? ? i know a fair few ordered them the week before i left

Don't think you missed anything really, usual bickerings, weather hasn't been too bad 'till this weekend and a new windowcleaner has poached the whole of your round.
Good to be back!

Hi Matt,

I'm glad you had a good time; but the US has never appealed to me, though I have spent some time in both Washington and Miami while on government service (honest), but that involved drinking copious amounts of weak beer and eating a lot of rubbish.

There's no history to the place, and when I went it was really anti-smoking; a bit what the UK is like now, but I'm going back about ten years ago.

Anyway, I hope you don't mind me nicking yours and Jeff Bs idea of the DIY lightweight pole and advertising it.  It's just too good a secret to keep to yourself.

I also didn't know you had a hernia?  A mate of mine had a hernia operation, his large intestine had slipped into his scrotum; honest; it was MASSIVE; he showed me.  He asked the surgeon if they could leave the swelling but take the pain away.  ;D

Unfortunately due to complications, he died on the operating table; they couldn't stop the bleeding apparantly.

Shame really; he was a really funny bloke.

I'm sure you'll be okay though.

Well on a positive note that must be reassuring for Matt.

As a strange coincidence; my mate's name was 'Matt', though we used to call him 'Dinger', because his surname was 'Bell'.

That's pretty much an army issue nick name in the forces when you're second name is 'Bell'; unless you're ginger, or so stupid that other soldiers realise.  If you're surname is 'Bell' and you're not liked, you'll get called, 'End' after what your surname is.

It's still a coincidence though!

But as I say, I'm sure Matt will be fine, despite all what you read in the papers about how rubbish the NHS is and how hard and overworked the surgeons are.

I personally trust the NHS and have no problems paying them my £2.30 a week Class 2 contributions; on top of my Class 4 payments to fund them.  They do a corking job, on so little money.

Anyway, the NHS is really good, as long as you don't get one of those 'stressed surgeons' who takes drugs 'n' stuff to cope with the horrendous hours they work.

As I say, I'm sure Matt has nothing to worry about.  Nothing at all.  It's just a hernia which is a minor operation.

My mate had one; but that was done by German surgeons; who killed him, but with good old British surgeons behind the scalpel, I'm sure he'll be fine.

Welcome back mate, I had that operation 20 years ago, too much heavy lifting.
They open you up, push the lump back in, put in some kind of strengthening mesh that your own flesh grows round, stitch you back up, job done.
You won't want to be lifting 25 litre containers for a couple of months after, oh, and be prepared for a dull ache for a couple of weeks after the op.

No that would be brilliant!

I'm tired of getting 'beasted' by the damanding Wor Lass.

I don't have a hernia, but I'd like a better excuse than, 'I'm tired, Pet'.  And that never works either; she just grins and 'makes me'.

Can I have a hernia op too?

thanks folks

tosh, ive only ever been to a few area's of the USA, newark, LA, Las vegas and orlando, to be honest disney do not need any history, they make it ;) i would honestly go every year, my wife would prefere it every 2 years, so we try for every 18 months ;) great for the children, esp girls, the disney princess's are what they dream about

it seems my hernia isnt that bad, as while away i only felt it once, when lifting a wooden high chair from 1 side of the food place to the other

nice to here positive words from tosh aswell , cheers mate

dai, they try to do keyhole now, its a very small hole, still the mesh, the barrels will be gone by next week, i have the tank and stuff, just going to sub pump into a my cart and empty barrel for a while, i have just ordered a 2nd pump to have a van mount, but loads of my work i cannot see how a van mount will work, i will have to move the van every 3rd house ( that will wind me up )

i went today to have a appointment with the specialist, im having it done in a small local hospital ( i dont like big hospitals ) it must be such a small thing as the girl flet me groin, i had to cough so she could feel the other side and that was it

only downside is, i will not be able to work for 4 weeks  :o :o, ive asked to see if they can get me in just before christmas, as i normally have 3 weeks off them anyway

tosh, the pole idea was all Jeff B's, i just pushed it a bit last year and did that little guide to help people

You've got to admit tosh can be quite funny.

getting the van mount will be the best thing that ever happened to you apart from maybe meeting your wife. I bet you come up with some good innovations too.

Matt, whose being funny?

Have you made your will yet?

One of Wor Lasses running mates is a doctor (okay not a surgeon), we clean his windows too; but you should see the amount of empty whisky bottles in his over-flowing recycling bin.

But, as I say, my mate went into hospital for what we thought was a routine operation; something happened, they couldn't stop the bleeding, and he came out in a coffin.

It was terrible; I had to shine my best boots and iron my No 2 dress uniform for his funeral; not to mention the palaver we had sorting out his kit for his his Next of Kin.  I even had to get rid of all his pornography (okay I inherited that  ;)) count his copper bottle out in front of the Quarter Master; so we could pay it into the Batallion's bank account; so we could send a cheque to his Mother, rather than a big box of coins... etc!

It was a proper pain; just because he had a hernia!

Anyway, as I say, you'll be fine, you won't feel a thing.

Regards,

Tosh.

PS.

If anything does go wrong, can I have your window cleaning poles?
