Ramsey & Sons ladder bracket Question?
« on: November 10, 2008, 11:26:39 am »
Hi,

I Ordered a double Ramsey & Sons ladder only for it to arrive with a tubular top stay bar instead of the flat flush type which I am used to on my other double Ramsey & Sons.

Because this tubular type protrudes out further then the flush type I find it presses  against my shin bones when my feet are  on the rungs one down from it.  The bracket holding this tubular bar sticks out even further resulting in me knocking my knees when going up or down.

Ramsey & Sons have offered to pick up the ladder & fit the flat flush type without any  expense to myself. GREAT SERVICE.

They went on to say that the new design was implemented earlier this year to give the ladders greater flexibility & has been well received by the majority of users.

Question, I am at a loss as to what this greater flexabity is. How about you lot?

Just been and had a look at my Ramseys: must be old ones, they've got the flat restrainer.

Maybe it's easier to separate the two halves with the tubular one? I know I have to give mine a good shaking to get the rubber block past the restrainer
